A chaotic bayou pirate, bar-stool private detective, escaped security android, and your stuffed childhood monkey walks into a brah…. No, I’m joking – we won’t head into that direction just now – although in these times a bad joke and a cheap laugh might be ever so needed. Perhaps as needed as any artistic endeavor and the artifacts that comes out of them.
In turmoil, strife, overwhelming ugliness and sadness, art can be a respite – a pocket dimension to slide into and let your reality shift into something else. The crack in everything, as Cohen famously put it, is an apt description of art after all. With that in mind, we are happy to be able to introduce you to small chisels, power drills and sledgehammers – tools for all shapes and sizes to bring solace and allow us to whittle away at the ever-enclosing walls of ugliness in the world. Together we can ensure that the cracks are large enough for us all to squeeze through, but it’s an active participatory thing – we all have to chip away at it
So please, enjoy the art. Then go home, and make it.
